Cardiology

Department Overview

Following the restructuring in 2013 (Year 102 of the ROC calendar), our hospital officially became the Hsinchu Branch of Taipei Veterans General Hospital. This marked the beginning of a new era that combines the professional standards of a medical center with the compassionate service of a community hospital.
Over the years, our cardiologists have been committed to improving cardiovascular health in the Zhudong area. The department aspires to become the premier center for cardiovascular disease management in the region by continuously advancing medical services, education, and research, while deepening and broadening the scope of local healthcare services.
In recent years, the department has actively upgraded diagnostic equipment to improve the accuracy of cardiovascular disease assessment. New acquisitions include the Philips echocardiography system, GE 24-hour Holter monitor, and GE exercise stress testing system.
In addition to strengthening collaboration with Taipei Veterans General Hospital and other leading medical centers in northern Taiwan, we have established an emergency cardiac care network with multiple hospitals across Hsinchu County and City. Under the leadership of former superintendent Dr. Jia-Xun Peng, we formed a strategic alliance—the "Golden Triangle"—with the Taoyuan Armed Forces General Hospital and Hsinchu Armed Forces Hospital at the end of 2015, further solidifying our regional emergency response capacity and enhancing service quality for patients with cardiovascular emergencies.
In terms of education, we proactively send our cardiologists and technical staff to participate in national and international medical conferences, and for advanced training at institutions such as National Taiwan University Hospital and Taipei Veterans General Hospital. We also organize internal training programs and invite field experts to provide on-site instruction. These initiatives help foster academic exchange, strengthen our team's expertise, and fulfill the cardiovascular care needs of the community, advancing our goal of building a top-tier healthcare service system.
On the research front, we collaborate with Taipei Veterans General Hospital and several academic institutions to analyze Taiwan's national health big data. Our research explores the epidemiology of cardiovascular disease in the local population and has been published in multiple international journals. These findings are integrated into personalized clinical care, enabling us to deliver evidence-based, patient-centered cardiovascular services.
Through ongoing development in clinical care, education, and research, we aim to build a comprehensive system for managing cardiovascular health in the aging population of Zhudong. By integrating real-world data and evidence-based medicine, we strive to provide globally aligned, locally delivered cardiovascular care.
