General Medicine

Department Overview

The Department of General Medicine is a cornerstone of our hospital, responsible for initial diagnosis and comprehensive patient care. It covers a broad spectrum of adult health concerns, focusing on the prevention, diagnosis, and treatment of common medical conditions. Our expertise spans multiple systems including cardiovascular, respiratory, gastrointestinal, renal, neurological, endocrine and metabolic, infectious, allergic, and autoimmune diseases.
Our medical team comprises experienced internists who are committed to providing attentive, holistic, and patient-centered care. We specialize in long-term management and individualized treatment plans for chronic conditions such as hypertension, diabetes, hyperlipidemia, asthma, and gout.
In addition to offering primary diagnostic services, we coordinate referrals to relevant subspecialty departments—including Cardiology, Pulmonology, Gastroenterology & Hepatology, Nephrology, Neurology, Infectious Diseases, Endocrinology & Metabolism, and Allergy, Immunology & Rheumatology—for advanced management when necessary.

Nurse Practitioners (NPs) are advanced practice nurses who play a vital role in delivering direct patient care throughout the disease continuum. They are key partners in the clinical team, ensuring seamless, patient-centered, and integrated care.
Our NPs are the frontline defenders of patient health, working closely with physicians each morning to oversee inpatient care and safeguard patient outcomes.
To meet evolving healthcare demands and enhance nursing roles, our hospital was officially certified as a Nurse Practitioner Training Institution in 2017. We have since actively trained NPs equipped with specialized clinical knowledge and a strong commitment to public health.
Currently, we have 10 certified Internal Medicine Nurse Practitioners, all of whom have passed national examinations and possess extensive clinical experience. They serve with compassion, professionalism, and dedication to safeguarding the health of the Zhudong community.
