Nursing

Department Overview

The Department of Nursing was established at the founding of the hospital in 1955 (Minguo Year 44). It currently has nearly 240 staff members. The department includes a Director, Deputy Director, supervisors, head nurses (including deputy head nurses), nurse specialists, registered nurses, and supporting staff such as contracted workers and care assistants.
We are responsible for promoting various nursing services, including:
  • General medical and surgical nursing
  • Psychiatric nursing
  • Emergency and critical care
  • Palliative and hospice care
  • Discharge planning services
  • Home healthcare and long-term care
  • Community health promotion
We provide patient-centered holistic nursing care, actively develop nursing information systems to improve quality, and adhere to our mission:
“To cultivate outstanding nursing professionals and provide high-quality nursing services.”
Through affiliation with the Taipei Veterans General Hospital Hsinchu Branch and close collaboration with academic institutions, we are shaping a learning-oriented organizational culture. Our goal is to become:
  • The hospital of choice for nurses in the Taoyuan-Hsinchu-Miaoli region
  • A model for nursing research and education in the county
  • A leading provider of social care services

Organizational Structure of the Nursing Department
The Department is structured under three main committees:
1. Human Resources Committee
Comprising:
  • Resource Planning Team
  • Resource Development Team
  • Human Resource Management Team
Its purpose is to:
  • Establish a comprehensive HR management system
  • Improve supply and resource management
  • Enhance staff competencies and nursing effectiveness
  • Organize large-scale events during holidays to boost morale and teamwork
2. Nursing Quality Management Committee
Comprising:
  • Standards Development Team
  • Quality Monitoring Team
  • Quality Improvement Team
Its role is to:
  • Align with hospital-wide development goals
  • Drive various nursing quality management tasks
  • Apply Continuous Quality Improvement (CQI) frameworks
  • Ensure patient care quality and safety
  • Enhance overall nursing service quality
3. Nursing Education Committee
Comprising:
  • Educational Administration Team
  • Training Team
  • Evaluation Team
  • Development Team
  • Research & Development Team
Its responsibilities include:
  • Coordinating training programs for nurses, clinical instructors, and nursing students
  • Implementing onboarding programs for new nurses
  • Supporting career progression of entry-level staff
  • Promoting multi-skilled nursing talents
  • Expanding the nursing role and career development
Additionally, it promotes:
  • The training of clinical nurse educators
  • Creative teaching strategies to improve clinical instruction
  • Nursing research with incentives for publication
This aligns with our goal as a teaching hospital to nurture a diverse and highly skilled nursing workforce.
